Interview with the Principal

Some might remember Michael "Tod" Humphries as being the interim Principal at McAdory for the 2013 - 2014 school year. He has just recently been appointed to the position permanently, as he is replacing Principal Brent Shaw who was the principal for one year and went on to accept a job as principal at Leeds High School. Principal Humphries started his professional career in law enforcement after graduating. He was a deputy sheriff for ten years, and an investigator for four of those. He was the Assistant Principal of Curriculum at Pleasant Grove High School for 8 years.
When asked about his plans for the school he stated two goals:
"First, my primary duty is to provide a safe, clean, disciplined environment. If you don't have that, no learning can take place. When parents trust us enough to send their children to us, it is our solemn responsibility to make sure they are returned to them safely. I try to treat every child like they were my own whether they need encouragement, instruction, or discipline. The goal of the whole community is to make sure the next generation is ready for the world." says Principal Humphries.
"Second, our mandate is to have all of our students college and career ready. My background is curriculum, and just in my short time here, it is apparent that McAdory has the potential to be one of the top schools in this district. I will do everything in my power to make sure that every student leaves with a diploma and is ready to pursue their dreams. I am haunted by every child who failed to graduate under my watch. I will do everything I can to not have that on my conscience", stated Principal Humphries.
With the new appointment of Michael Humphries as Principal of McAdory High School it looks like the future of Jacket Nation is in good hands and is set to be one of the premiere high schools in the area.
